At Last Laugh Improv, we do long-form improv comedy. It is scene-based, character-driven, and funny without being gimmicky, and we love it that way.
For some time, there hasn’t been an ensemble along the Wasatch Front dedicated entirely to long-form improv comedy. With the support of Actors in Action Conservatory and Lightree Studios, we found a home where that vision could take root. Now we are growing into a company that aims to leave its mark as the region’s premier long-form improv comedy group.
The Last Laugh Improv Showcase is a ninety-minute long-form improv comedy performance created live by a single ensemble. Without a preset setlist or any games or gimmicks, the cast moves through multiple long-form formats entirely on instinct, letting the shape of the night reveal itself in real time. Each show becomes a one-night-only creation, built from grounded scene work, character play, and the energy shared between the performers and the audience.
We build our flagship show without gimmicks because it demands the highest level of improvisation. With no preset structures or games to fall back on, everything depends on the strength of the ensemble. Scenes must earn their laughs. Characters must be worth following. Every moment has to hold up on its own. That challenge is intentional. Without scaffolding, our performers rely on trust—trust in themselves, in each other, and in the craft—and that pressure creates work that is richer, more surprising, and more alive.
This open format also honors what improv truly is: a live act of spontaneous human creativity. It continually pushes our improvisers to grow, strengthens the ensemble, and results in shows that feel daring, theatrical, and genuinely unrepeatable. The risk is the reward; by leaving the show wide open, we reveal what’s possible when artists step onstage with nothing but their instincts and the courage to use them.

She’s been acting in Salt Lake City for the past ten years and has had the pleasure of performing scripted works, improvised shows, and a mix of the two. She’s taken the stage at the Salt Lake Fringe Festival, Wasatch improv Festival, Femme Fest, and Trolley Brawl in Salt Lake City, and performed at festivals in Chicago, Arizona, NYC and the Bay Area. It’s been a lovely adventure since that first high school crush. Theater is already wonderful; but improv is magic.
